Summary:
The Registration Representative registers patients to the clinic.
The Representative establishes patient accounts, gathers billing information, insurance cards and/or guarantor information.
Obtains appropriate signatures on papers.
Assures all information collected is kept confidential per policy.
Position Requirements:
High school graduate is preferred.
At least one year of general office experience is preferred.
Good customer service skills Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities):
Registers all patients obtaining the necessary personal, insurance and other data required for proper tracking and billing.
Verifies insurance coverage with carrier or employer.
Follows pre-certification requirements.
Inventories and requisitions supplies.
Processes patients and paperwork in an efficient manner to expedite patient services.
Answers basic insurance/financial questions.
Facilitates patient access to patient portal as needed.
Responsible for taking payments on services and keeping a balanced ledger and cash drawer.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
