The general helper assists operators, relieves operators and does other work as assigned by the shift supervisor.
Assistant Shift Supervisor assumes the duties of the Shift Supervisor in their absence.
Responsibilities:
Assisting all machine operators on the job to which he is assigned.
Proper forklift operation.
Observing all safety rules and always being alert to potential safety hazards.
Staying up to date on and observing all work rules, policies and procedures.
Maintaining a healthy, positive attitude towards the company and its management.
Keeping the shift supervisor informed in regard to the status of work and safety.
Maintaining proper communications both with management and fellow employees.
Recognition of potential problems and reporting to the operator in charge.
Reporting items that require repair or adjustment.
Relieving the operator for breaks and lunch periods.
Maintaining a clean, orderly and safe work area.
Determining and securing supplies needed to perform the task assigned.
All other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Requirements:
High School education required plus 1-2 years college or vocational education preferred, prior manufacturing experience helpful.
Must have ability to operate manufacturing equipment as required.
Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand.
Independent Self-Starter/Team Player.
Mathematical Skills:
General Arithmetic/Percentages/Fractions.
Advanced English:
fluent in:
speaking, writing and reading.
Computer Skills:
able to report and analyze information.
