Your responsibilities
Summary:
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production and facility equipment through corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.
This role is always operating with a continuous improvement mindset and driving improvements in efficiencies within operations.
This technician will work closely with other team members including, but not limited to maintenance, production, quality, and engineering to ensure that production targets are met while maintaining a high standard of safety, quality, and reliability.

Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner, including lock out tag out procedures.
Complies with established production processes, product applications, control plan adherence, as well as Business Operating system during assigned shift.
Maintains production equipment so the line is capable of producing quality parts within the allotted cycle time.
Maintains proper housekeeping to include personal tool box and job site during and at completion of tasks.
Conducts preventative maintenance tasks, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance yielding minimal downtime.
Diagnoses and resolves mechanical issues using tools, equipment and technical manuals, and provide timely solutions.
Monitors production/machine data to find trends and predict equipment needs.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, lessons learned, and spare parts as well as provides reports as necessary.
Participates in supplier training for new and existing systems and equipment.
Supports continuous improvement efforts by identification and reduction of inefficiencies.
Assists in scheduling maintenance activities and developing routine and critical parts lists for new and existing equipment.
Supports in training maintenance technicians, operators, line technicians, and team leaders in the operation of lines and other training.
Manufactures / repairs tooling using a mill / lathe.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Should be proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and blueprints.
Individual should also be proficient in basic workshop practices (i.
e.
, hand tools, electrical, plumbing, welding, painting, cleaning, etc.
).
In addition, the position requires:
Availability to assist during non-scheduled work hours.
Availability to be on Call status when required.
Availability to work all shifts.
Ability to work independently in a team environment.
Demonstrates pride in workmanship.
Knowledge of basic Metric System.
Education and/or
Experience:
Associate's degree (A.
S.
) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred.
Minimum of High School education or GED equivalency with 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environmental/waste handling practices preferred.
